Announcing the new Community Digital Publics

With the start of 2026, we are very excited to officially launch the activities of our new community led by Anne Schulz (Communication and Media Research) and Karsten Donnay (Political Science).

Our new community focuses on understanding and shaping the transformation of public life through digital technologies. We invite researchers from a range of disciplines- including communication, political science, psychology, sociology, computer and data science, linguistics, and law- to join us in fostering inclusive, transparent, and sustainable digital information environments through cutting-edge, solution-oriented research. Our community brings together members of the previous DSI communities Communications and Democracy harnessing the joint research interest and expertise.
