Eva-Maria Vogel

Eva-Maria Vogel is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Communication and Media Research (IKMZ) at the University of Zurich. Her research asks how political social media influencers build and defend credibility with their audiences, and how credibility shapes persuasion and misinformation dynamics on digital platforms. She is part of the SNSF-funded project on political social media influencers (PSMI), led by Prof. Dr. Frank Esser, which studies these actors comparatively across countries and platforms. Her main methods are computational: large-scale collection of social media data and LLM-assisted content analysis of multimodal influencer content. She holds a Research Master in Psychology (M.Sc.) and a bachelor's degree in Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics (B.Sc.) from the University of Amsterdam.
