Anne Schulz

Anne Schulz is Assistant Professor of Political Communication at the Department of Communication and Media Research (IKMZ) at the University of Zurich. She is co-chair of the DSI Community Digital Publics. Her research focuses on political communication, journalism studies, and media psychology, with a particular interest in how digital media environments shape citizens’ engagement with news and information and what this means for democratic participation. Her work examines topics such as negativity in the news and its consequences for well-being, news avoidance and participation in elections and referendums, populism and news use, information overload, public service news and alternative news media
