Lucas Paulo da Silva

Lucas Paulo da Silva is a new Research Associate at IKMZ. He is supporting Anne Schulz's SNSF-funded project about negative news and its effects on audiences, alongside other research on political communication and political behavior. Lucas has a background in data science and media studies, and he recently completed his PhD in Political Science at Trinity College Dublin. He is passionate about using computational and experimental methods to understand online media, ideology, public opinion, and voting. More specifically, his past research often focuses on measuring the ideological positions of online news (using computational text analysis) and testing how this media influences audiences' political attitudes (using experiments).
